Hi There!!! Well it has been a couple weeks again! Not much time for crafting, but I have managed to get these cards made for one of my friends. Aren't these Forever Friends easter bears cute??? Gorgeous!!! They are 3D decoupage sheets and they are all shimmery! Love them! I even made some shimmer mist to shine up my Cake Crumb cardstock to match!!!

Easter Time!

Hi there!!! Yep I know I have been absent for a while! (Busy, Family, Life!!) But I hope I am back to being able to post regularly again.

Last night I had my card night with my group of lovely friends! We made an Easter Card and a cute little box to put some eggs in. I also made the ladies a smaller box with eggs in for them for Easter!! (Coz I love them so much!!)

We have used the new Stampin Up In Colours mixed with some (appropriately named Chocolate Chip!! lol)

The card is cased from Dawn Olchefske I loved the fancy folded card and thought it would be something different to do! The box called 'Tucked Away' from Timeless Templates.

Happy Birthday Rhiannon!

It was Jaydens' friend Rhiannon's Birthday recently and the one thing about her card was that it had to be purple!! Ok! and she dances! I had these images stamped out ready to watercolour! so I thought they'd be perfect. I had fun with these. The little box is from Lauren Meaders Timeless Templates - Cash or Card, instead of putting a giftcard in we wrapped up 4 $5 notes! (seeing she likes purple! lol)

Club Penguin for Brodie!

Hi there!! Yep I said I'd get in to it this week! lol. My boys got Brodie on to Club Penguin, (a fun little online game/chat room for kids!) and he was asking about membership as you can do 'so much' more and buy heaps more 'cool' stuff if you have a membership! So thats what we gave him for his birthday this year - 6 months Membership!!. I set it all up for him at my end, so when he logged in on his birthday "BAMM!!!" he was a member! and he loved it! His card had to suit the occasion, so we hit google and got some images. All in all I think it turned out ok. I was rushed with this one, but am happy with the result and (attention Hubby dear!) have used some (maybe 3-4 year old) rubons and letter stickers!!! So even if they don't get used straight away! They will eventually get used! haha.

I'll be back tomorrow with another birthday card!

Baby Shower Invites

Hi there!!

I was asked by a work friend to make some Baby Shower Invites up a while back!! I was rather please with the finished result. The Stroller was cut out using my cricut, and the Top Note Die was used for the information part. (That was fun making the template on the computer to print them all out in the right spot so I could then just run each piece through the bigshot with the Top Note Die! But it worked in the end, and now I have it saved so I can do it all with ease now!!) I made 20 of them all up!! and two boxes to house them in. The envelopes have also been stamped with a roller.

It was Jayden's friend Sara's birthday the other week, and me running behind as usual, sent him off to her bowling party and whipped this up while he was there! "She likes Red he said!!" Seeing I still had the papers out from my 60th card on my desk I decided to go with the same papers. These are from the Classic paper Pack by HOTP. I also thought I would have a play with one of those ribbon flowers! I think my first attempt turned out quite well. The template for the cash is from the Cash or Carry Templates available from Lauren Meaders Timeless Templates.

I really think I needed something on the black circle at the top! but the brain just couldn't think of anything else!! a button didn't suit, nor did a flower! Brain was dead so it stayed as a black circle!! lol

May Christmas Card Night

Hello again! Wow we are up to May already! Geez! Well this month for our Chistmas Card Night we are making 2 of each of the above cards!! The ladies will be having a play with the Crayon Resist Technique. I thought I'd go with Non Traditional colours again and am loving the Eggplant and Navy! The blue Bauble card is based on Mojo 121. These are rather simple cards - as in layout. But with learning a new technique we need to keep it simple. I hope the ladies enjoy this one!!

60th Birthday

Cathie at work asked if I would make a card for her Dad's 60th. I rather liked the Mojo Monday 133 Sketch. So I rotated it and came up with this, thought it was a good one for a 'male' card. I have used some old HOTP papers and Basic Black Cardstock. Again I have decorated the inside!!

That's about it from me, for another week, with a bit of luck I will get some cardmaking time over the weekend!! Zoe (my lovely daughter) wants to start scrapbooking so we hopefully will get some scrapbooking time in soon too!! I also have to go through baby photos of Jayden for his Graduation Slideshow!! Hmmm, where are all the embarrassing ones!!???? lol.

Happy (late) Birthday Eilish!!

Hi there! Yep I know ... it's been a bit long between posts!! I've been busy, doing ... I haven't a clue!! But I have managed to get a couple of cards made and a class prepared for!! so I guess I am achieving something!!

This card is pretty much well and truly CASED from here! Teneale does the most awesome work!! go check out her blog!! You'll be inspired by everything!!! I wanted to make a special card for Eilish!! (my boss's youngest!) and I wanted to use the sweet treat cups! When this card of Teneale's popped up in my google reader! I just knew I had to case it! I needed to figure out an opening though, as it is such a shame to rip open the card to get the lollies out! So I had a fiddle and came up with this idea. of a little card on the front of the card!

I messed around for ages on this card, but I am happy with the final result. I have also been bitten by the - 'do something special on the inside' bug too!! (Thanks Teneale! lol) So have decorated the inside too.

Silhouette Cards

Hi there!! I have seen some gorgeous cards lately on SCS that use the Extreme Skate, Guitar, Surfboard etc stamps from Stampin Up! Unfortunately we don't have them in Aus (hopefully YET!! and we will get them in our next catty! as these are great stamps for boys!! I have everything crossed! lol) Anyway, I went a-googling! and found some silhouette pics and thought that they would do just fine - for now - as a fill in!! lol. So these are the cards I cam up with.

The first one I made was the Rust one at the bottom! Then I made a blue one and liked it so much more that I ended up continuing with the blue colour scheme. I have printed the silhouette pics, cut them out, coloured them with my Basic Black Marker, then inked them with Versamark and then Clear Embossed them. This has made them nice and 'black' and as they are glossy they really stand out!! I also have some Rock Star ones!! So hope to have a play with them soon!

Baby Boy Overalls

Me again!! (hee hee) Yep, well here are the Overalls! aren't they cute?? I love them! Again, a bit of fiddling with the template size, but they have turned out great!! AND..... I have used up just a little more of my stash of papers I have had sitting there for (shhh) ages!! The whole inside of the card is lined with the patterned paper, and each of the boys' names are on the inside also. For the template go to the previous post of the dress.

A 21st and a New Baby

Recently Cathie at work asked if I'd make her some cards. A 21st for her daughter and some baby cards, the baby girl being Cathie's daughter's baby!! The 21st had to be pink!! Cool, but then as I started making Maddison's card I thought I'd match the pinks seeing they are Mother and Daughter!! When I was asked to make the baby cards I thought I'd have a go at these cute overall cards I have seen on various blogs, when I finally tracked down a template I also managed to find this gorgeous little dress template too!! (Links = OverAlls - Dress). You may have to fiddle a bit with getting them the right size, and I have made mine slightly larger than the normal C6 size. They fit in a 13x18cm envelope (which is still classed as a standard size envelope!) All that said, here are the pics!! First up the Dress and then the inside and then the 21st card, which is based on a Mojo Monday Sketch No - 127. I have used Pink Flamingo DP, Cameo Coral and Pink Pirouette!!

More Easter Baskets

Hello again!! Still on the old Easter Basket Craze! here are the baskets I had sitting on the table for the ladies who attended my craft class the weekend before Easter. (Also the teachers in Jayden & Owen's class scored one each too!!) We were making the cute little Chick, Rabbit and Sheep baskets posted earlier! I actually made 10 of these in total!! Yep!! Took forever!! lol. But were well worth it as they are so cute! They are from the fantastic templates you get from Timeless Templates by Lauren Meader. This one is Pack a Picnic - I have used the small template! I must make up the larger one to see how big it actually is, as I thought this was a decent size!! They are really quite easy to make and don't take too long, if you are making a heap! - like 10!! - I found it easy to have it all cut out, then sponge everything, then just start a production line and stick it all together!! The first one I made (the apricot one in the pic above) I used just normal DS tape, and it clearly hasn't stuck!! Sticky Strip was just a pain as the red peel off bit sticks to your fingers and drives me crazy! (lol) so I used the Tombow glue! and found it fantastic!! It sticks quickly and is not too messy!

I have basically used the same materials as in my earlier post on scallop envelope die baskets so instead of rewriting it all, just pop back there. Like I mention earlier, I actually prefer the Soft Subtles with the Kaleidoscope papers rather than the brights.

OMG I need a card - STAT!!

Jayden had a birthday to go to today! and me being as disorganised as ever of late, went looking through my dwindling stash to grab a card for Racheal Lea. To my horror not a girly card in sight!! Not a boy card either!! Nope not a single Birthday card to be seen!! "She likes Blue" Jayden offered as I was searching through every box of cards I had!! I came across this card (the card above is pretty much an exact CASE. the only difference is the Rhinestones in the middle of the flowers, and I used Old Olive instead of Kiwi Kiss) in my box marked 'Inspiration from Others' - it was a swap I received from 'Unconvention' last year. It was blue, and seemed a quick one to whip up!! So with Jayden's "Yep Mum that ones cool!" I got to work! The card is from Kylie. So pop over to her blog and have a squiz at her gorgeous work!! While I was 'whipping' up the blue card, I thought I'd do a couple of extras - as i am really behind on my birthday cards. So I did one using Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Perfect Plum! These three have a belated birthday message on them.

The flowers are done by inking in Versamark, then the colour and then stamping. Then apply heat and stick powder, heat again, dazzling diamonds then heat again!!

Scallop Envelope Easter Basket

Hi all!! Well, I know it's been a while!! I just don't seem to find time for anything these days! Let alone Blogging. I have a bit of a backlog to show, so I will space it out a bit and hopefully by the time all those posts have appeared, I will have something new(er) to show! lol.

I have gotten in to the habit of taking an Easter Basket to school for the teachers in that week leading up to Easter - this is this years offering! I had just received my pre-order of the new InColours. So decided to use Rich Razzleberry and the Cottage Wall DP. I have also used the Yummy stamp set which was from last years SAB Catalogue.

March Christmas Card Night!

On the 12th (yep I am slack with my blogging!!) we had our second Christmas Card night and made these two cards. Non Traditional Colours, and very pretty!! Lots of embossing but we managed ok! We have used the same little medallion using vellum as we did on our February Cards and we made 2 of each colour!!

Easter Baskets for P & C Raffle

Me again!! Yep I know I am gone for like EVA!! then I am bombarding you all again!! I am trying to be a bit more consistent, but then 'life' gets in the way!! Anyway, I got my Bigshot!! YAY, and while I was at it I ordered the Top Note & Scallop Envelope Dies. These little baskets are made using the Envelope Die. They are so cute and very simple to make and rather quick too!! I have used the nice and bright Kaleidscope DP and instead of teaming it up with the bright colours that coordinate with it, I have gone with the Soft Subtles instead. (Which match beautifully!!) I wasn't too keen on these papers in the beginning, then I saw some lovely projects made with them so got some!! now I am thinking of getting some more before they retire with the Spring Mini!!

So these baskets have headed off to school for our P & C Easter Raffle. I made a similar basket last year, but used more 'envelopes' - though I didn't have the die and Big Shot and used my Cricut instead.

Pick A Petal Craft Day

Hi All!! Today is our craft day and we are getting together to play with the 'ever so versatile' Pick a Petal Stamp set!! and we are making cards that are NOT a flower, though I have made flower ones up in with my samples. The pic above are the cards we are making. Male cards can be a pain so I thought I'd take the opportunity to get us to make a couple for our stashes! We are also making an Easel Card, these are so easy and so cute!!

Here are some close up pics of the cards we are making and the first sample I made for them also. I am trying to go through my scraps, but when I had finished the brown candle card and the orange face card, I wasn't entirely happy as my projects for craft days are always matching in colours etc!! so back I went and used some of the Spring Break Papers and created two new ones!! I knew the ladies would like to make a lady bird, but didn't think they'd like a blue and green one so stuck with the red and black for that!! We are also playing with fraying ribbon!! So easy and so effective!!

Our Monthly Mojo Sketch Challenge

Howdy!! Yep I am here again!! I am makng up samples of cards using the Pick A Petal Stamp set for my craft ladies to show how versatile it is!! We are using this set for our next craft day on the 27th Feb, so I thought leading up to then I will show you some of my samples. Here we have another Easel Card!! HAPPY VALENTINE DAY!!

I am slowly working through the stamps that Petra from Craft Factory sent me last year. These two cards are made using Carl in Love! combined with a Mojo Sketch No 73 (The second Card).

I have water-coloured the image on both cards using watercolour paper and then gone over the image with a glue pen and then covered them in Dazzling Diamonds!! This is a great way to hide any imperfections in your watercolouring!! lol.

February Christmas Card Night!

Hi All!!

Last night was our first monthly Christmas Card Night! Once a month my crafty friends and I get together for a card afternoon/class, we learn a new technique or card design, make a few cards and or a 3D item and have fun catching up!! This year we are introducing a Christmas Card Night, where in between the monthly class we (just a few of us) will get together and make 4 christmas cards, so come November we will have 40 cards made!! and any others that they have made themselves at home!! So it's a good head start! The cards we made last night are a complete case from Tina Dickman!! Hi there!! Here is another card made using my stash of HOTP stuff!!. Everything for this comes from a set of Citris Creative Packs that had papers, overlays, embellishments all matching!! and then I have added Not Quite Navy cardstock (I think! it could be Night of Navy). I know this is a sketch that I have followed, thought it was a Mojo Sketch, but for the life of me cannot find it! If anyone recognises the sketch let me know so I can link it.

I initially made this as a male card, but think it is too pretty with the colours, so am thinking it will suit a 17 year old nicely!! EEK!! 17!! That's driving age!!! Our thoughts are with you Mary and Andrew as you embark on the journey of teaching a teenager to drive!! (lol Anthony taught Zoe! There was no way I was getting in the car!! haha)

Hi there!! Looky!! I have finally tried one of those cute little Easel Cards!! You can find the tutorial on SCS. I am still going through a pile of little images from an Annie Lang book I have had, like, forever!! With this card I have slipped Lachlan's Gift card in the base! It fits perfectly!! My card measurements are 10cm x 10cm - I am loving it!! So bright and so Cute!!

Craft Factory gets a Mojo Makeover!!

Sorry couldn't resist!! Geez it's hard coming up with a catchy title sometimes!! (Oh well). Anyway, on to the card. This is the Mojo Sketch - Mojo113 I set for my craft ladies for our first get together this year!! Which is happening today! I think I picked a doozy this time! This card would have taken me most of Tuesday morning to make!! I woke up with the idea in my head, and I wanted to use this stamp that Petra sent me from Craft Factory last year, I think I finished it around 1.30pm just before getting ready and heading off to work!! I was determined to finish it!

I have used the gorgeous Bella Rose DP's and have paper pieced the flowers, the dress, the shoes and even the arm that sits over the dress!! When hubby noticed that he was rather impressed!! lol. The hardest thing about the card was getting the papers right in the background! I wanted a pink dress, but it looked to washed out and when I cut it out of the red DP is was perfect!! I originally had the dots as the background and the pink behind the image, but again it was too washed out!! So lots of changing here and there and I finally settled on what you see!! I am rather impressed with the final card. Nice and bold! yet pretty at the same time. Hope you like it!! I can't wait to see what the ladies have come up with!

Introducing Ollie

Hi there!! Yep me again! I am playing a stupid game on Facebook and while I am sitting here I am trying to think of other things to do, so it doesn't seem like I am wasting time!! So I thought I'd introduce Ollie!

Here's the backstory....Once upon a time .. (lol) Nah, over Christmas Zoe and Josh stayed with us for a few days and along with them came Gadget, Zoes little 3 month old kitten. After they had left we felt there was something missing, and really missed the faint jingle of his little bell racing around! So we decided that we were going to get a kitten! After reading Judes post on facebook, just asking 'anyone have any kittens?' and how easy she found one, I thought I'd just ask! So when I went to work I asked ... and got the right answer!! lol

Ollie's mother was killed by the owners dog, and they didn't know there were any kittens until a neighbour heard them. The owners were bottle feeding the kittens and two of them went to people who wanted to hand raise them straight away. Lucky for me the owner was happy to continue bottle feeding until Ollie was eating food, so I could have her. At that stage we were unsure if she was a boy or girl but I already had names picked - Oliver for a boy or Annie for a girl. (As they were both orphans!) The name Oliver was growing on us and we were hoping it was a boy and we would call it Ollie for short. Well we are pretty sure she's a girl and have decided that she is Ollie anyway!!

She's a bit grubby in the pic! We gave her a bath on her first day here, but now she is learning how to clean herself! She is so tiny, so cute and so lovable!! She just cuddles in and snuggles under your chin!!

Now she is exploring the house and hiding around corners and jumping out at you!! Not a good idea as she is so tiny we nearly tread on her!! lol.

Sorry to bore you with my long non craft related post, but she is the most adorable little kitten I just had to share!

Tri Shutter 50th

Hi there again!! Two posts today!! lol. Here is another card that I found on my camera, it was made around the same time as the wedding card. This is a Tri Shutter Card that I am sure nearly everyone out there has made one now!! haha On this card I have given colouring a flower from the Pretties kit a go!! After attaching it to the card, i realised that maybe I should have made the colour a bit deeper as it seems a bit washed out! But it still looks fine! I have used my Cricut - Alphalicious Cartridge to cut the 50.

A Wedding Card

A couple Sympathy Cards

Hi there! I have had a request from a friend to make a Sympathy Card. So I thought I had better get in and do it! One problem.....School Holidays + 2 Boys = Headache!! Honestly they are less than 2 feet from each other but they are shouting!! It's 40+ degrees outside, so they can't go out there!! So I am going to make another cuppa and try and hide down the other end of the house again!! (problem is our house isn't very big!! Oh well!!) I think I might ask for some soundproofing!!

Well on to the cards hey? This is what I have come up with. I have gone with the Bella Bleu DP and the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set. These could quite easily pass as a sympathy card to give to a male even?? What do you think? I am also thinking of making a couple of pink ones, but my brain just isn't working today - too much noise.

Happy Birthday ZAK!

Hi there!! Well this is the plan....I am on a roll at the moment and pretty well intend to keep the ball rolling!! Last year I was forever late with my Birthday Greetings for my Nieces and Nephews, and well some people didn't get cards at all!! (Apologies to those people). I am currently ahead!! yes I said AHEAD of schedule with my 2010 greetings! (yeah I know we are only half way through January!!! BUT I plan to stay ahead!) So the plan is to make the card, pop it in an envelope with stamp and date to post!!!!, photograph the card (before putting in the envelope - of course!), Blog it and schedule the post to load on the day of the Birthday (this keeps me blogging regularly!) and the the big one!! remembering to put the card in the mail!!! Will I succeed??? How long will it last??? We will see! and you will just have to keep popping back to see if I am successful! (hee hee)

Anyway, about the card.... One thing I plan to do to start the year off is to go through and use a lot of the craft products that I hand B-SU (Before Stampin Up!) A few years ago I was in to everything HOTP (Hot Off the Press) and therefore have HEAPS. The image from this card and several others that will pop up soon are from an Annie Lang Book, she has the most adorable little characters!! so Cute! though most of my nieces, nephews and friends kids are growing out of the cutsie stage. For this card the only Non SU is the image and the blue background.

Inspired by Gadget!!

Yep!! We were babysitting our GrandKitten last Saturday, and I was crafting away, I needed to make a card for Petra, to go with the little treat box I was sending her (hope you have it now Petra!! Otherwise I have spoilt the surprise!!) My challenge at the moment is to start the year off emptying out my drawers of offcuts!! (which are rather full!!) So I have made the mini treat box from some largish scraps of Sarah DP (retired like 2 years ago??) and this card is made using the left over that I had from that! Petra (from Craft Factory) sent me some stamps last year, so I thought I'd make a card for her using one of them, use some scraps and knock off another Mojo Monday Sketch!! This is Mojo 107.

I am really happy with how it turned out, though I had several changes with the paper piecing, changing the ribbon, then the box, the flaps of the box.......and finally settled on this look. The kitten body and the base of the tail are glued and the head and tip of the tail are raised on foam tape to make him look like he is sitting out of the box.

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock and Inks - Bordering Blue, So Saffron. Papers - Sarah DP (retired). Accessories - Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon. Other - Blue Brads, Nestabilities, Bow Easy (Wow this is a cool tool!!) Grey watercolour Pencil.

Wow I am on a roll!! (hee hee)

This is what my craft ladies are making for our January Class, it a Valentines theme, but for those who don't have a Valentine, it can just be a card to say 'I loveYou' for anyone. We are making the 2 cards and a cute little giftbox, which again is from Timeless Templates. This one is called Time for TakeOut. (there is actually a light pink flower between the two red ones on the back card, but the flash as glared it out! we may use a darker pink on the day)

Gift Card Holders

Here I am again! This year I plan to be ON TIME with all my Birthday Greeting from my neices and nephews, I came across Timeless Templates late last year after seeing many beautiful creations on various blogs, so just befre Christmas purchased a pile of them!! One was called Cash or Charge and contained 3 templates for Giftcard Holders. I used one on my packaging for Zoe's Pandora Beads and this is another.

I like to make the packaging to match the colour of the Giftcards!! So these bright green ones were a challenge! But I think I have done ok!! The bit with the card on pulls out, but if you undo the bow, the sides open up and the centre part folds down to reveal the card also. So with these four I am now ahead with my Giftcards! (yippee!!) On the brown ones I have actually - for the very first time - used chipboard shapes and coloured them with my inks using daubers!! Wow what fun and so easy!! I am not sure why I haven't before. This year I plan to use up a lot of stuff that I have accumulated over the years - especially my scrap box!!

Mr Gadget!!

Hi there Everyone! Meet my new Grand Kitten - Gadget!! He is Zoe's kitten and she has gotten in to the habit of calling us Grandma and Grandpa!! So we are playing along!! lol. He came over with them for Christmas and we got so used to having a kitten around that we are actually going to be adopting an orphaned kitten. (I hope to pick him/her up next week) The owner is still bottle feeding it. More on that later!!

A Card from The Past!

Hi All! I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and New Year!! We in Aus are now in 'Back to School' mode!! completing booklists, covering books, labelling EVERYTHING!! (Oh the pain!!) haha. This year is going to be extra special as Jayden was elected one of our School Captains (we have 2)!! So a challenging year for him!! I am confident that he will do very well!!

Anyway, back to the card! I haven't posted in a while and the other day this post by Jean McKenzie (love her work) popped up in my Google Reader!! I love the stamp and actually have it in my collection! I was thinking about the card I made with it which was cased from a magazine back in 2000!! I searched for a photo but for the life of me couldn't find one, but when I was sitting down having a cuppa telling my DH a lightbulb moment happened and I jumped up, grabbed out my box of handmade cards that have been given to me and there it was!! I had actually never used the card!! So here is a pic of it!! and a link to Jean's card also (above). The cute little Hedgehog is actually swinging in the window of the card in its little hammock!! Hmmm I am thinking that this stamp may come out to play again soon!! lol.

Gift Wrapping for a BEAD!!

Me again!!

We decided to get Zoe a Pandora bracelet for Christmas!! She is very hard to buy for and this way we can keep adding to it for her!! Never a worry about what to buy again!! YAY!! So she got the bracelet with a 'Z' charm, heart charm and little handbag charm from us and then Jayden and Owen each gave her an 'O' and an 'E' (The O being from Owen!! - of course!! lol) So now she has her whole name!! I wanted to package the beads from the boys in a nice way, instead of just the bag that they give at the shop. These are also from Timeless Templates and are 'Cash or Charge' they are little Gift Card holders!! So Cute!! and Zoe loved them too!

I also ended up with a Pandora bracelet for Christmas, from Wendy!! Zoe and I are now creating our 'wishlists' for future charms!! lol!!

Some Chrissy Gifts

Hello to you all!! I am running a bit late with these couple of posts, so will pop them up quickly now! I have not had the best of years this year, with rotten migraines!! and have had a bit of time off work, I don't like it when other people are having to cover my shifts. I made these little gifts up for Julie and Cathie, just to say 'Thanks". They are little bottles of Shower Gel and Body Lotion from The Body Shop, with an exfoliating pad. I have based the boxes on the 3 x 3 Notecard Box at SCS and just changed the measurements to suit.

Then for Wendy, my boss, I have made up a little box from Timeless Templates, popped in some (yummy) flavoured Lindt Chocolates (the box holds 10 nicely) and a Breast Cancer Ribbon Bead for her Pandora Bracelet.

I was so happy with how the little gifts turned out, and the recipients loved them! Job Done!! Now to make sure I get on top of the headaches!! (We are putting a plan in action for that so we will see how it goes!!)

2009 Teacher Gifts

Well as we all know, I haven't had a very creative year this year!! I have been struggling by to get made what NEEDS to be made!! Normally I would go a bit more lavish with the old Teacher Gifts but this year I just went with the treat boxes! Which they loved anyway!! Mini ones for the Teachers and a large one for the Staff Room (I bet the chockies only lasted till morning tea!! lol).

But for Mr Fuller I wanted to make something special, he has been a fantastic teacher and influence to Jayden and Owen, the last 3 years he has had at least one of my boys in his class and last year had both!! So as this was his last year with a Cassidy in his class I made him a special gift, which as Owen took it out of the box to give to him, he tipped it and everything fell out!! lol! but we put it all together again, and he loved it! I came across this project on someones blog, (I have no idea where) but thought it was a good idea. I have actually used coffee containers instead of tins (the Jarrah coffee Blends - they are a cardboard container). I know that Owen would be a culprit for always forgetting or 'not having' a pencil, or losing his ruler etc, so I thought I would give Mr Fuller a supply of 'Spares'. So that's my Teacher Gifts for 2009.

Christmas Gift Cards

Hi All!! I know I haven't posted for a while, apologies! I'm here now though!

I have just finished up making Gift Card Holders for the gift-cards I am sending to my nieces and nephews for Christmas! I like to kinda match the holder to the card, and this year these cute green ones caught my attention, and so the holder was inspired by them! Thank goodness I have just recently purchased the Snow Swirled stamp set!! I have made them 'matchbook style' where the card actually tucks in to the little flap at the bottom. They are a bit 'stiff' because of the layering on the front, but I will tweak it a little and make it better for next time!!

Finally!! Finished the One Sheet Wonder!

Hi there! The other weekend I was getting together with a group of my craft ladies to do a Christmas Card Frenzy!! We were going to do this One Sheet Wonder (found here). Firstly I thought I'd make up a set of the cards as samples for the ladies, but they took me forever!! lol. I kept changing a bit here and a bit there!! Adding a layer here and a layer there!! In the end I decided it was a bit difficult to attempt on the day so were learnt the Polished Stone Technique instead. Well today I finally finished Card 16!! Yay!! So here is a pic of all of them and slideshow of all 16 Cards individually. (Please excuse the quality of the photos, I am exhausted!! Not from making the cards (hee hee) but in general. The flash has glared them a bit!)

A 'case' of Polished Stone

Hi Everyone! On Saturday I taught a group of ladies the Polished Stone Technique. I haven't been too well lately, so wanted some cards that were easy enough to prepare, and easy for them to create. I came across this set in one of the latest issues of Cardmaking stamping & Papercraft, designed by Jayne Mercer. So we gave them a go. They have been cased completely! I have just made them all standard card size instead of the two little ones.

I don't have many re-inkers, just the In Colours, so I took this as an opportunity to use up a bit of my left over n Colour Cardstock. We all made the blue ones, then I had cut up an extra couple kits in Wasabi and Pomegranate. The Pomegranate ones are gorgeous!! The Re-Inkers I have used are Soft Sky and Blue Bayou, River Rock and Wild Wasabi & Pink Pirouette and Purely Pomegranate. The technique has turned out beautifully.

Thanks Jayne, for the lovely inspiration and for getting me to give it a go!! Now to buy some more Re-Inkers!! lol

In Memory of Grandpa

Back in May when we did Unconvention, this was my project for our first Scrapbook Challenge.

I have been searching for a frame to put it in, But haven't been able to find anything. This is an 8" x 8" page, and the frame is 23 x 23cm from IKEA, so I have added and extra border of Baja Breeze behind it. I have sent this over to Nan, it is 5 years today since we said goodbye to Grandpa. Nan has this photo on her dresser, but I thought I'd dress it up a little for her.

Class of 2009

Hi again! I have been trying to finish this up for weeks!! Yep Weeks! I just haven't had any energy or drive to go sit down and get it done!! I saw the idea on a blog ages ago, and liked it (I can't remember where, but if it is yours please let me know and I will link) I have recently acquired several sets of Nestabilities! (Finally) and I loved the way they cut out the photos! and the edges are embossed too. This is also the second project I have made using the Bind It All, I still seem to be squashing my wires :-( if anyone knows how NOT to do this, some advice would be appreciated - I know I probably just need a bit more practice. So for now the ribbons hide the squished bits!! I was a bit worried about the ribbons, seeing its pictures of the boys...but Owen reckons its AWESOME!! So I suppose that's ok! Now I have to make another for my MIL, This one is for Nan.

Finally... The Faux Wood Class!!

Yay! We finally got there!! I have been attempting to do this class with my friends since August!! and yesterday we actually got to do it! I love the technique from SCS. Each month I give the ladies a Mojo Monday Sketch to challenge them, and a few commented that they had a hard time with Mojo Sketch 76, so I decided to design these two cards around this sketch. Plus it was requested to do Male Oriented Cards. So I have accomplished this with these!! The ladies picked up the technique just fine!! It's so easy!!

Jaydens Harry Potter Birthday...2004

Ok well here are some pics from Jaydens Harry Potter Birthday Party in 2004!!

As I mentioned in the previous post, we made up all his Harry Potter Lego and put it on display! That took several weeks!! We had a Sorting Hat Pinata! and I made up little Spell Books/Colouring Books for all the kids, with special 'magic' colour change pens!!. I can't remember what I did for the lolly bags!! I always did BIG Production parties and NEVER took pics of my lolly bags - which were always very time consuming to put together. Silly me!! But they were always themed in with the party!

Angie and I spent the whole day covering the walls of the games room - Inside and Out - with cardboard and then each individual brick was sponged with a homemade 'brick stamp' made from a yoghurt container and a kitchen sponge!! I had already put the cardboard in place, then Angie came back with me after taking the kids to school and we spent from about 9am till 3pm sponging!!! and even then it wasn't finished!! we came back after school and continued, then Anthony and I continued later on also!! It was a BIG job! but worth it!

Let's Play Lego!!

Or should I say "Mum is sick of the Lego getting messed up and left all over the place!! So we are going to make it all up, see what's missing and pack it away in neatly labelled bags and boxes that I am going to go to IKEA to get on Friday!! any excuse - lol - and while I am there I might pick up my new Alex Drawers!! The smaller ones that go under my craft desk!!! Get that Allen Key ready Anthony!!!! )"

So that is what we are doing!! Slowly but surely we are going to make up all of the Lego!! We have heaps as you can see from the pics. Jayden collected heaps of Harry Potter Lego and I would like for it to be kept intact! (In my dreams! we are probably missing heaps) We are keeping a list of what we can't find, and hopefully as the contents of the box dwindles, we will find some of the smaller pieces, then the next step is to see if I can get replacement pieces from the Lego site or online! (could be a big ask!)

So I figured seeing we are going to all this effort to make up the Lego, I may as well share it!! Jayden had a Harry Potter Birthday Party a few years back and we made up all of Jayden's HP Lego then and put it on display, so I will dig out that pic and share it too....stay tuned for that one!

More Eastern Elegance!

That's right!! I didn't move on! haha. Using the same Inspiration as the previous post I have created another NoteCard & Box Set and a Mojo Monday Sketch!! I still have a couple more projects to finish up then I will move on!! Honest!!

Here we have the inside of the box. I was going to make a Pizza Box - which I have! But then I saw Lee-Annes post, and thought I would adapt my Pizza box to having a folder around it!! I ended up with some 'issues' but now know for next time what to do to help it open easier!! Next time I will separate the top from the Pizza box and attach it separately, as I had to trim the edge and it ended up a little messy. This Pizza box fits 5 cards and envelopes nicely I could possibly fit another in to make it an even six!! The Notecards are all the 'Pillow Case Design' from the inspiration picture (previous post) and they alternate with the white strip on opposite edges.

Here we have a Mojo Monday Sketch! Mojo Turns 100 - Day 6. This is the sketch I have given my ladies for their challenge for our next class. So I thought I had better get one made up!! I did make Kristen's birthday card using the sketch, but have already given it away!!

Wow I am really loving this colour scheme!! Absolutely Loving it!!! I will be back later in the week (hopefully) with my last couple of projects for you!!

Eastern Elegance!!

Hi All!!

I have had a bit of Inspiration!!! Yep!! Finally!! lol. I saw this on the front of the Big W Catalogue this week and really liked it! Then it hit me that the flowers looked a bit like the branch from the Eastern Blooms stamp set, then the old brain started ticking over!! So here are my Inspired Creations!!!

First up we have the Quilt Cover.....

After making these, I told Anthony that I think I might make up a set of Notecards and Envelopes in a Giftbox (there are 4 cards and 4 envelopes), then I will pack it away and move on! So here are the Notecards and Giftbox!!! BUT!!! I didn't move on! haha, I will show the other creations later in the week!! Then I will move on!! (I promise)

Faux Wood!

Back again!! (Two post today! I am on a roll!!)

I have also been playing with the Faux Wood Technique. This is the technique that the ladies are going to learn at our next class, we are making Faux Wood Frames, following the tutorial from SCS. My other challenge for this techniques is to do Male Cards!! I am not sure about this one, so I am going to redo it, using a thinner frame and plan to put fish in it!! I feel that the 'Frame' takes up too much of the card front and there wasn't much room for a sentiment! Hence the teeny tiny silver sticker!! 'Thankyou'

I decided to use the Just Beachy set for this class, and the other card will use the little car! So stay tuned for those cards by the end of the weekend!! I need to get busy!

I have been a bit slack of late with NOT listing my Materials, so am attempting to get back in to the swing of it again!!

Punch Fun!

Hi There!!

For our last Techniques Class, we didn't learn a new Technique, we just played with punches instead! I pulled out all my punches, Stampin Up! and Carl (and various others) and my Punch Books, found some ideas on SCS, then pulled out all my scrap folders out and said "Go For It!!" I managed to get a couple Turtles made, a Monkey and an Owl!!

This cute little Monkey card is pretty well exactly cased from SCS!! He was so cute I just had to attempt him!! I don't have the Wide Oval Punch (yet!!) so I actually made his body using the Ovals from the Creative Memories CCS Ovals. For his fingers I have used the daisy flower from the Spring Flower Punch (Retired) Isn't he so cute??? The tail has been made using an oval punch and then re-punching it to end up with the thin bit.

I also love these cute little Turtles! (again found on SCS) Though I am not 100% happy with my choice of background paper, looked good to start with but.....now I am not too sure!! I have made this little little fella using a combination of punches. The body has used the Creative Memories CCS Circles, his toenails are the Spring Flowers Punch (retired) and the rest of him is Stampin Up! punches. The top Turtle pic uses the MojoMonday - Mojo Turns 100 - Day 7 Sketch. It's nice to see I am actually getting some of these sketches done!!

Kristen's 'DUCK' Challenge!

Hi again!

A few months back, Kristen set me a challenge for her Birthday Card! DUCKS!! What?? Anyway, time moved on and I still hadn't made the 'Duck' card! I had an idea in my head and sat down to do it on Wednesday (the day before her birthday!) but just couldn't get anything to work, I wasn't feeling the best so put it aside!! I bought her a cake on the day! (Guilty conscience - lol) but today I had another idea and sat down to put it in place! So using a trusty Mojo Monday Sketch - Mojo Turns 100 Day 6 I came up with this!!

I have actually had these little 'duck' stickers in my stash for a couple of years! I knew they would come in handy one day! I just knew I would get some obscure request for a 'Duck' card and wanted to be ready!! haha.

Anyway, I have scheduled this post to appear after I have given Kristen her card. So......

My First 'Bind It All' Project

Oohh Looky Look!! (haha) I just made my very first project with my Bind It All!! I've had the BIA for about 3-4 weeks, but haven't had a chance to play, so today was 'playday' !! I still have a bit to learn, my wires are a little wonky, and I think I should have used a bigger wire, but I had no idea when I bought them and thought the 1/2" one would be fine - but they are not! so this holder only holds about 2/3 a pad of Post-its! I need to get some 1" wires.

After school we popped to the shops to do a bit of Father's Day shopping, and I thought I'd just pop to Spotlight to see if I could get the corner rounder to use with the chipboard, and low and behold when I found the isle they had the cute little pink bags (Bag a Bind) to store them in!! so I did a bit of Mother's Day shopping (as we all know it should be Mother's Day every day!!) and picked myself up a bag, the new spacer thingy and the wire snips in the cute little pink case!!

Anyway, back to the project! Do you like the cute Duck? well seeing I have a had a request for a 'Duck' card, this was the original idea that I had, or a card with this duck image!! Well the card didn't come together as planned, but this did!!! It is actually a serviette!! Yep! from Craft Factory. Now that I have played with one I will play some more! (I will post this awesome bauble that Petra made for Jayden later, when I can photograph it clearly.) Anyway, I have separated the three layers (yes three) I had trouble finding the third!, then ran the card I wanted to cover through my Xyron, layered the serviette over it and smoothed it all out nicely. The duck is actually stuck on a separate bit of card and has been cut out and raised with mounting foam. I didn't have any chipboard coasters, and the cardboard/chipboard that I had was rather thick! so what I have done is used the backing card from the Stampin Up! Designer Paper packaging and have stuck two bits together, then when you add the cardstock to the front and inside, it is plenty thick enough for this sort of project! I have heaps of this card, so I plan to stick several of the 12 x 12 sheets together and then I can cut them to size at my leisure!

Anyway, that's about it for now!! I will share my Duck Card tomorrow! Go check out Craft Factory and see all the awesome serviettes there!! Oh and here is a pick of the back! Oohh I love it!!

Stepper Boxes!!

Hi there!!

I haven't been 'playing' much of late, as I haven't been well - but I seem to be on the mend now!! and the headaches are subsiding! I have finished these Stepper boxes and matching cards though!! They have been sitting ere waiting for me to catch up with my friend Denise, as I have made them for her! But that's not going to happen for a couple more weeks, so I thought I would post them!!

These are really very easy to make, just a little time consuming. But definitely worth it!! For these three I have used Bella Rose DP, Afternoon Tea DP (retired) and Tea Party DP. I have also used the Top Note Die Template that is on our Stampin Up Website, I printed off a template on cardstock, then went into publisher and enlarged it slightly and printed it off again on cardstock, so I now have a template for the mat also.

I found the idea for the card on someones blog! loved it, so gave it a go, it is also on SCS somewhere (if it is yours let me know and I will link it for you)

Anyway, I thought I would just pop in quickly, I need to go make a card for a girl at work!! My challenge was 'DUCKS', so I had better waddle off and have a play!! (haha)

I usually like to edit the photos by putting a border on them, but have just switched to a Mac and don't have any software yet!! any ideas from you Mac users out there??? I am thinking of looking into Photshoto Shop Elements ..... will have to do some research!

Tracey's Tri Shutter Card

It was Tracey's birthday a couple weeks ago, I've been a bit slack and am only getting around to posting a few things now. I had a go a these Tri Shutter cards when I saw Kims post! I really liked hers, so ended up casing it, but changing it a tad! I dyed flowers from the Pretties kit, using my daubers!! so much fun, and it doesn't matter how light or dark you colour them, they will match your cardstock & papers because you have used the same toned ink!! I love how the flowers have turned out! With the butterflies, I have inked them in Baja Breeze, then dabbed the edges with a sponge dauber and Cameo Coral ink, then I have added a couple of clear Rhinestones to the body. This card has ended up a bit 'thick' because of the Build a Brads and the butterflies, but I wasn't posting it so it didn't matter!

I enjoyed making this card up and plan to make up a couple more 'flatter' ones for my collection!! It's a nice way to used up some old Designer Paper too!!

Tonight after weeks and weeks of research, tears, tantrums, blood sweat and more tears!!!! we finally completed our 'Night of the Notables'. All the children in Owens' Year 5 PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge) chose an eminent person and for the evening, they became that person. They dressed up, presented a Bio Riddle and then went and stood with their Learning Centres (a display of what they have learned about their person) where we went around and asked them questions about their life, goals and achievements as this person. If we were lucky we were given a souveneir to take home!

...Roald Dahl

He is actually dressed as Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He spoke very well while reciting his BioRiddle, he is a very fast talker, so getting him to slow it down was a task in itself, but he managed and he also got a few chuckles from the audience!! We made up a pile of Bookmarks, showcasing 8 of Roald Dahls most well known books and some interesting facts about the books. He also gave out some cadbury Chocolate (for the visitors to rate!! haha). They had to complete many tasks including, A Report on their person, write the Bio Riddle, plan a dinner party for their person and explain who they would invite and where they would sit and what they would eat! A mindmap and a timeline, a letter to the person (or in this case Owen wrote to the Roald Dahl Foundation) a famous quote by their person, and then any other information they wanted to present. All in all he did well.

It was a fun night! We were in the company of many great people!! Such as ~ Alexander the Great!! Joan of Arc, Queen Elizabeth, Helen Keller, Neil Armstrong, Julie Andrews, John F Kennedy, Picaso, Mozart, Amelia Earhart, Captain James Cook, Einstein, The guy who invented Lego!! Albert Nobel, Henry the VIII, Leonardo Da Vinci, Walt Disney, a couple more that I can't remember and Bill Gates, who popped a sticker on my shirt saying "Microsoft ~ Change the World or go home" Funny, I just went to the Carousel today and put in my order for my iMac that I am going to pick up on Saturday!!! LOL Looks like I better "Go Home!!" (hee hee)

All these eminent people!! in Kalamunda!! and we are very proud of Owen! He did so well!! It was very hard to get him to put in the extra work, but worth it and he is pretty chuffed with himself too!!

Wasting Time!! (Tut Tut!!)

Ok well I have been having a play with signatures, I really should not be wasting time, so I am going to stick with a simple one for now then maybe get on to a few people and see how they have done theirs!! Till then though, this is what I have come up with. so it is off to my desk to make up some colour kits for my ladies and then try to get a couple cards made.

So what do you think?? Pretty basic hey?? I want something cute!! any suggestions.....

Petra's Parisian Birthday

Hi there!! Well it's been a bit of a slow couple weeks! I've not had much inspiration, so have spent some time trying to get my craft space more organised and also to declutter and get a few jobs done around the house! We are getting there slowly.

Here is the card I have made for Petra (from Craft Factory) for her birthday. I have scheduled this post to appear after she has received it! Don't want to spoil the surprise! I have followed the Mojo Monday 97 Sketch Challenge and have actually completed it in the week that it was for!! But this post will appear in the following week!! Maybe next week I will get one in on time!! (lol)

I have used the gorgeous Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Papers for this card. They are a lovely textured cardstock and the colours are just divine!! I plan to play with these alot more!! and soon!! The sentiment is actually on a set of rubons, but they were black and it wouldn't go, so I have printed them on my computer using the colour match codes for the printers. So I printed in Chocolate Chip!! How cool!

Anyway, Must go try get some more things done off my To Do List!! Like 3 Stepper Boxes with Matching Cards, plus a couple more Birthday Cards that are due!!

50th Anniversary Card

Hi All!! I haven't been very productive of late (so sad) Is it just me or does everyone else seem to spend more time cleaning up their craft spaces than actually creating?? I try to create 'cleanly' but always seem to get in a mess!! (oh well). Anyway, my boss asked me to make a 50th Anniversary Card, the recipient is a bird watcher and earthy neutral tones would suit! I bought Touch of Nature when it hit the retired list! as I love it and this little bird is so cute. I have actually used my Creative Memories Cutting System for the shape and have used a paper from a HOTP paper pack. The bird is stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White and coloured with blender pens and ink pads. I have sponged the background with a dauber in Sahara Sand. I still think it is a bit plain and needed another layer, somewhere! Not sure, though now that I have the set on my desk I think I will play some more! (after a little more tidying!!)

This next picture is the inside showing that it is a 50th Anniversary Card.

Embossing Techniques Class

Seeing as this Technique Class was held in July, we decided to make it a Christmas theme for our cards. So I have pulled out a couple of last years designs and rehashed them for this class (have been brain dead of late!!) As I was making them up my lovely parcel post guy arrived with my Spring Mini Preorder, so we got to use the Oval Scallop Punch!!! Yummmm.

I have used the lovely Christmas combo of Real Red, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and (unfortunately retired River Rock) and the embossing techniques are Colour Embossing using Versamark and Classic Ink Pads and Basic Embossing using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. We have used the stamp set Season of Joy.

Baby on a Cloud of Glitter!!

Hello again, today we have another of those cute little babies on a cloud from Craft Factory. I received a request from an online friend to make a card for her cousins baby. She wanted it personalised, so I have added the name using my Cricut, but just subtly with the white edge. I have also used the Top Note Die template that we can print from the Stampin Up! Website! I just love this baby floating on the glittery cloud!!

I have used the same materials as used in the previous card with this stamp.

My Craft Ladies Mojo!!

Well last Saturday we had another Technique Class and we learned all about embossing!! Some of the ladies had done embossing before but were still 'wowed' with using the Heat and Stick Powder over a whole image to 'bling' it up!! Their Sketch Challenge for the month was a Mojo Monday Sketch, and it was number 37! So here are their creations....

I was also spoilt a bit on the day as the following day was my birthday! I didn't want the day to be about me but my friends just don't listen!!!! (lol) I ended up with lots of balloons and two cakes!! (Yes I turned 40!) Here is a pic taken by Anthony of my Craft Ladies and myself, unfortunately we are missing Angie!!

Pink & Pearly Mojo 37!

Well today is my Technique Class with the ladies! We are learning about Embossing and the different ways in which we can use our heat gun! This is my last card for our Mojo 37 Sketch, I had the image already made up on my desk left over from a previous swap card, so I already had the colour scheme etc, just basically had to put the card together! This one was quick and easy!!!

Later today I will post the Sketch Challenge cards that the ladies have made!! So I had better go and finish organising things!! Seeya!!

A Mojo 37 Smile?

Geez it's hard to come up with a catchy title sometimes!! Anyway, still sticking with the Sketch Challenge I set my ladies, I have pulled out another 3D image that I already had assembled. I am trying to start to work my way through my BSU (before Stampin Up!) stuff! When I originally put this flower together I was thinking a Sympathy Card, but while making this card, this is the Rubon that stood out and said "Use Me!!" so I did.

I have one more card using the Mojo 37 Sketch then I will show what the ladies have made then move on to something else!

Toreads with Mojo!

Aren't these little guys cute?? I love this 3D Book that I bought a couple years ago!! They are so cute!! I have used the Mojo 37 Sketch again. I was wanting to put "Hang in There" as the sentiment, but didn't have a stamp, sticker or Rubon to suit, nor did I have enough letters in any one sticker alphabet to write it out!! But I did find this on one of my MAMBI Sticker Sheets!! and thought "That'll work!" My boys call this the 'rude' picture!! (click on picture to zoom in!! lol) The layers aren't on an angle either, it's just the angle I have taken the photo at to avoid the flash! But it gives you an idea of the 3D.

Better Late than Never!!

It was Jayden's Birthday a week and a bit ago, and I was running a bit late for his card!! But I did get it finished the day after!! I have only now gotten around to taking a pic and popping it on here! I wanted to make him the Astronaut from the 3D sheets that I get from Craft Factory. They have matching Serviettes too and Petra made him this fantastic bauble!! Wow!! (I will blog it later when I can get a good picture!) The Christmas Gift ideas that have been racing around in my head with those!! Ooohhh!! I can't wait to have a play! Step 1 ~ Find out where I can get the baubles (lol)

Anyway, I saw a card while blogsurfing ages ago with an astronaut standing on the moon (I think!) so I thought I would go with something like that and this is what I have come up with. There are small stars stamped in the background, the moon has been run through the Cuttlebug with the small circles embossing folder and edged with the paper distresser.

While I had the colours out I also made up a card to go with the sketch challenge that I gave to my craft ladies to complete before this months Technique class ~ The Sketch was Mojo37 (This card has been flipped as a portrait card instead of landscape)

That's it for today, I have also made a couple more cards using the Mojo Monday 37 Sketch, so will blog them over the next couple of days!

Oh dear!! My baby broke!!

(lol) He was having a go on one of those RipStiks at daycare on Thursday and fell off!! Apparently he was very good, very brave! He just said "I think I have hurt my arm" When Kathleen phoned me at work and said it looked crooked!!! Eeek!! Off I flew got the boys, got snacks & water, got petrol!! then headed up to PMH (Childrens Hospital). Silly me didn't even think that he may need to have the bone put back in place, so I let him eat!! So after the X-rays revealed that the bone was sticking out at a lovely angle, we were told that we had to wait at least 3 hours before they could do anything! Sedation was the first option, but we needed a nurse to be with him the whole time and as they are short staffed, that just didn't happen! so the Orthopedic Doctor!! booked him in for a general anesthetic for 8pm!!

We'd been there since 1.30pm! Owen was starting to get bored in emergency and resorted to memorising the eye charts!! I reckon they should have opened all the curtains so that everyone could see the show!! He is such a little comedian!! Anthony finally got there about 6pm, so I took Owen home. Jayden had to stay in hospital overnight!! but he was fine! He is now becoming very good at playing Wii left handed!! (lol). He is not allowed to go to school for a week, till it is x-rayed again next week, so lucky we are on school holidays hey? but that also means no daycare next week either! We don't want it getting knocked!

Showers are now Dad's responsibility!! (yay - haha) and I have to remember to allow an extra 30 mins each morning to re-wrap the bandage and get his shirt on!! He'll be Houdini by the end of the 5 weeks!!

Anyway, I need to make some swaps for my Dinkum Diva's meeting tomorrow!! Nothing like leaving it till the last minute hey?

Happy Birthday Wendy!!

Hi All!

It was my bosses birthday the other day! and I thought I'd make her a special card!! I decided to use one of these cute 3D Bear Images and after layering it up, it was ending up to be quite a thick card, so I decided to put one of these cute hatpins on it! The beads on this can make it bulky so I wouldn't suggest putting them on a card to go through the mail. I have used Stampin Up! cardstock, I can't remember where the image came from. The hatpin, pearl & clear beads are from the pretties kit and the coloured beads and ribbon are from my stash.

Well it's Carolyn McPherson's fault!! lol I was reading a few posts from SOS and followed a link to Carolyn's blog (just gorgeous by the way!!) and discovered the link to this cool blog where you can get free backgrounds!! I really like the cuteness of them and this one is my fave! so I thought "a change is as good as a Holiday!!!" it's school holidays! and we are not going away, so why not!! hee hee. Anyway enough babbling from me, I need to remove myself from this end of the house to the quieter end or my headache will get worse!!

Geez Jayden is a Dag!!! He is about to attack his Birthday Cake!! Hmmm maybe eating the lit candle is not such a good idea!! LOL. What a classic pic though!!

On their birthdays the boys get to choose dinner, Owen generally chooses McDonalds, this year Jayden chose Chinese! yum and for dessert we made the 5min Microwave Mudcake that the boys love!! We had it as our dessert for Unconvention and it is quick, easy and most importantly - yummy!! So last night I stuck a candle in it as his Birthday Cake!! He loved it! Gave it two thumbs up even!!!

Well I am humming away to myself today "....give me a home among the gumtrees!!" lalalalala!!

Owen had his class assembly yesterday and they have been studying Australia this term!! So we were thoroughly entertained with the Year 4/5 version of Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport (Rolf Harris) and Old Man Emu (John Williamson) You had to be there it was very funny to watch!! Anyway, we were also treated to the school singing the Orange Grove version of Give me a Home Among the Gumtrees! You can listen to a school choir version here. and decipher the words here!! The words have been changed to suit our school!! How cool hey?? Plus Owen the clever little "Animator To Be" has also created a maze in Scratch, which has also been popped up on the website for all to have a go at!! Not sure which version it is!! 1.0 or 1. 9 (approximately!! ) He keeps adding to it!! haha. You can check that out here!!

Stepper Boxes for Denise

Hello everyone!! Well first up apologies for not posting in a while!! I blame my new iPhone!! Sorry , but it is so addictive!! I got so sick of my old phone (Hiptop 3) freezing and not connecting to the network, that I decided to switch, and hey, the new iPhone was being released!!! So I have been playing with my new toy!! Sorting out my contacts, calendar, Ringtones, apps etc etc etc! and basically no crafting!! One thing I had to get done though were these Stepper Boxes for my friend Denise, I took my projects from Unconvention to her place when I visited last and she loved them and asked me to make up a few. they are not hard to make, I think I spend more time on deciding which DP & colours I am going to use than actually making them!! I have also made up a couple of matching cards. Both Boxes are virtually the same using Ginger Blossom DP (retired). I have three more to make for her!! So had better get busy!! I have used the Mojo Monday 37 Sketch as my inspiration for the cards.

I have also been trying to get some order in my craft room, reorganising etc, plus sorting out paperwork getting organised for Tax Time!! Gotta Love it!! So on that note!! I had beeter go finish what I have started!! Bye

Hello all!! Well I am sitting her full of a cold and trying to create a couple cards and guess what??? Its' just not happening!!! (lol~cough!!~lol) So I thought I would share these two cards I made the other day, I saw them on SCS and thought they were nice and cheerful colours, so I have recreated, added some glitter and used a different sentiment. Hopefully I will be creative tonight!!! If not Friday. Till then, stay warm!!

Ooh Guess What!!??? They are there! Petra from Craft Factory asked me if I would make her some stamped cards for her Project of the Month on her Website, as she generally plays with other items and not the stamps, so she sent me some gorgeous stamps and these are the first two I made. I have several more and plan to play with them over the coming months, like a cute worm card, adorable little snail, turtle and lady bug stamps!! I even have a wedding one to play with!! So stay tuned!! I will blog them as Petra uses them.

These adorable little sleeping babies just screamed In Colours and Dazzling Diamonds at me!! (Yes!! they screamed!!) I wanted to put them on a sparkly cloud!! and I did!! (lol). Yesterday we had a lovely afternoon learning the Chalkboard Technique and the ladies did a really good job!! It is really very easy!! These cards, however, are their 'Homework' (or Sketch Challenge that was set for them to bring along with them). We used Mojo Monday Sketch 88 and they all did a fantastic Job!! A Chalk Rose with Mojo??

Hee hee, couldn't resist!! This is another Chalkboard Technique sample for my ladies and I thought seeing the Sketch Challenge I gave them as 'homework' was Mojo Monday Sketch 88, that I would make a card using that sketch to show them too!!

So for this card I have stamped the small rose from Wild Rose in Whisper White then dabbed So Saffron Chalk over it, then sprayed it with the fixative spray then have stamped over the top with the outline image in More Mustard. Which has soaked in to the chalk a bit more than I wanted it to (I thought the fixative spray would have prevented this!) but it has a noce subtle blend to it. I then used a cotton bud and dabbed some white in the centre and chalked that, then used some 2way glue and Dazzling Diamonds to make it sparkle a little!!

Well today's post is a little boring!! Sorry..

My crafty ladies and I are starting a Techniques class on Saturday, in which we will learn a new Technique each month! This first month we are learning the Chalkboard Technique. I have decided to use these little A5 Bantex Binders (I think they are a fantastic size for any reference material you want to keep close at hand on your desk!!) I have one with all my Stampin Up! Colour Charts etc, one for all my Bazzill Colours, a stamp catalogue that is never complete!! (lol) and a couple others too!! Anyway, so instead of trying to get everyone to decorate something I thought this was an easier option, and each month I will print up the instructions and a sample page, the ladies try the technique and pop the sample on the blank page and put it in their binder for easy reference!! Whalah!! haha. As you can see from the pic above I couldn't decide on a font for the Spine!! So I printed up a few different ones, the ladies can then decorate the part of the spine that folds onto the front cover with whatever!! I have used Baroque and some Flower Fusion Flowers.

So this first Chalkboard Page is what I have pictured here, as most of my techniques will be coming from SCS I also will provide the link to the photo tutorial on there.

Zoe's on the SCRAPheap!!

Well here I am again! I am really on a roll hey? After our blast of UNconvention and the sketch challenges we had, and then Lisa giving us some challenges on the SOS group this week, I have again ~ Scrapbooked!! (eek!!) I did have a go several years ago and completed one 2 page layout of Zoe's hospital baby photo! You know the one most people get sucked into buying!! (haha) Anyway, I really didn't get in to it much and continued with cards. But these sketches are getting me hooked! I am playing with 8 x 8 pages, I find the larger 12 x 12 too hard and feel you have to try and fill the page, the albums I bought were the 21.5 x 28 cm size, but I am not too fussed on those anymore either, so I am going to play with a few more sketches, then invest in some nice 8 x 8 albums later on.

I am really loving how these two pages turned out, I just kept it simple and to the sketch and am letting the beautiful face be the highlight!! Isn't she gorgeous???

The journalling reads...."These would have to be my two favourite photos of Zoe. The photographer at the Portrait Place at Myer wanted to try this 'silhouette shot' with her, saying that many children turn at the last second and you lose and eye or half the face, but this shot turned out perfectly and he was very impressed!! So am I. Taken October 1990 2 1/2 Years Old"

A couple of years ago Zoe's nickname (or whatever you call it) on MSN was 'ZCB the Original and the Best since 1988' I loved it and it has stuck in my head, so I thought it fitting to title this Layout Miss ZCB.

Chalkboard and Colour Inspiration Combined!

Here is my attempt at the second Colour Inspiration Challenge on the SOS group. Perfect for a Chalkboard card hey? It has lightened a little with the flash, but it looks great! I have sprayed the image with the Fixative, and it really does just seal it nicely so you can't accidentily smudge it. I have clear embossed the centre scallop so it clearly stands out from the backgound, and each 'Flower' has a half pearl in the centre. The stamp set I used is Tart and Tangy! using the citris slice stamp, but whack a pearl in there and you have a flower! I have also gone over the outer white circle with the White Gel Pen to make it stand out a bit more. I am really loving this technique and hope to make a few more cards with a few tweaks and see how much I can do with it.

Chalkboard Technique

Hello again! Well my craft ladies are coming over for a Technique Class on Saturday and we are going to have a play with the Chalkboard Technique. This is my first attempt at it! and I have had fun, so over this coming week I plan to make a few more cards showcasing it. I have made the Free Standing Pop Up Card as our 3D item and a single card. I have also written up the instructions for them, and they will do a few samples to stick on a page for their Technique Binders. (which is just an A5 Bantex Binder with Clear sheets). Here are a close up of the two cards we will be making.

I thought I would try different background colours instead of just using black, and am loving the Navy Blue. When we make this card I am going to make the pink background just a little narrower so the Flower image stands out a little more!

I loved making up this PopUp Card, though when it slides closed it also scrapes along the chalk. I have a can of Micador Workable Fixative Mat! that you can spray over the chalk image and it sort of 'seals' it! then you can work over the top of it again and respray if needed. It dries in seconds and doesn't alter the cardstock or chalk. If anything it gives it a slightly brighter crisper image ~ less dusty!! So we will use this on the weekend too!

I have two more Chalkboard card ideas up my sleeve so will blog them when I am done! If they work out!! (lol). So that it for me, off to complete some challenges.

Here we go with more Cupcakes!! Yummmm!! This next one was cased from a Gift Card holder on SCS but I just made it in to a card instead, and added some Red Pearls and an extra cupcake on the 'Shopfront'. I think it is so cute!! The striped scallop strip (try saying that 5 times fast!!) is folded over and only stuck at the back, so it is like a shop canopy!! So cute!! (lol)

Then we have a really girly pink one!! I am loving the Sweet Always DP. The orange with the pink works really nice together!! More cupcakes will be cooked later using more of this paper!!

And last of all we have another one of the Challenges that Lisa set on the SOS group. This one was a Colour Challenge using Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Summer Sun! The cupcakes have Liquid Applique on them, so the icing is all raised and puffy!! and then a shiny cherry on the top which has been coated with Crystal Effects.

So that's pretty much it for my cupcakes at the moment! I have made several more, but they are pretty muched cased, so I won't show them here.

Cooking up a Storm!!

Hello again, well I still haven't moved on from the cupcakes yet!! Nearly though. I will put the set away this weekend and attack something else!! (lol) What started the 'binge' was Makeesha's cards on her blog! Then it sort of grew from there so here are a few that I made up which were inspired by the 3rd card in her post...

These two use the MojoMonday Sketch No. 88 and I have just changed the colours around. I decided to keep it pretty simple so that it can be used for a male Birthday.

I decided to stick with the green and blue for these next two, a couple more suitable for the men!! These have followed two of the Sketch Challenges that Lisa has put on the SOS group this week! 2 down 4 to go!! (haha - I think!!)

Anyway, I'll be off!! and I will upload the other cupcakes soon.

Dinkum Divas Swap

Well I am just realising that I haven't posted in a while!! (naughty me!!) I have sort of been busy! I have been making up samples for my Technique Day with my ladies in a couple weeks, I have been making lots of cupcakes (cards) and working on Instructions for some cards I made for Craft Factory for Project of the Month. So busy busy busy. (lol)

Anyway, yesterday was a training day for the Dinkum Divas, which is the group of Stampin Up ladies I am with. Unfortunately, due to another of those Thunderclap Headaches I have lost my speech again, though, no way near as severe as last time, but as I still had a rotten headache and, well, couldn't talk very well, I stayed home. But my gorgeous and ever so lovely hubby went on a little trip and delivered my swaps for me, so the ladies wouldn't miss out! So this brings me to this card!! The swap was a sketch challenge, which was the Mojo Monday 87 Sketch. I nearly went with Upsy Daisy!! Good job I didn't as two other ladies used this set. I decided to go lovey dovey!! I have used the set A Happy Heart. The "hearts & kisses" have been stamped in Chocolate Chip, then I sponged the edges with a Riding Hood Red dauber. Using a cotton tip I have removed the ink from the centre heart and then using the dauber added the Riding Hood Red ink. I have used the same technique on the I {heart} U stamp also.

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Set - A Happy Heart. Cardstock & Inks - Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette & Very Vanilla. Accessories - Candy Lane DP, Scallop Edge Punch, Sponge Daubers & Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Riding Hood's Cupcakes!!

Good Morning World!! (hee hee) I have been having fun with Crazy for Cupcakes at the moment!! I am absolutely loving the set!! I originally printed up a pile of cards that I wanted to case, some were and others just went in their own direction!! This particular card was originally inspired by one I found on SCS, but it didn't look right so I decided to can the scallop and ribbon and go with something a bit simpler. Then this next one, also inspired by one on SCS, but justwasn't working so I ended up with something completely different!

I am really loving dazzling Diamonds at the moment too! and all my cupcakes have sparkly icing! I used to always use Crystal Stickles as it is less messy that glitter! But Stickles sort of changes the colour to a blue/green sparkle, where as the Dazzling Diamonds keeps the colour underneath more true! I have also cased a couple of Makeesha's cupcake cards from her Convention Parade post, they have remained as is, because her cards are just fab!!

Oh yes indeed it is!!! Look what the postie brought me today!!! My subscription copy of Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft! Vol 14 No 12, and there I am on page 60!!! (Well not me.....but my cards!!) how exciting!! and haven't they presented them beautifully?? I made these cards last year sometime, they have been at the magazine since before December!! and here they are!! (can ya tell I'm all excited!!???) I will post the actual cards later. But just thought I'd share my excitement for now!! Seeya!!

This is another Class Tutorial I purchased from Andrea Walford. I have actually changed the size of this to suit our C6 Envelopes and our 'standard' cards. so it is slightly taller and wider. It took forever to make as I kept double checking all my measurements. But I wrote them down and when I get my 12 x 12 In Colour cardstock I am going to make another using the Good Morning Sunshine DP and Good Friend & Cheep Talk stamp sets. Looking forward to playing with that.

Again I have followed Andrea's tutorial and used the same papers and stamp sets, except for the sentiments, which I have used Warm Words (retired). I have also changed the note bit on the inside of the Portfolio and stamped all the envelopes with the single flower from the Bloomin' with Beauty stamp set. I had a lot of fun with this one too!! So am glad I purchased them.

Next up I hope to blog some cards that I have been making for Petra at Craft Factory, but will check with her first.

Pun Fun Class

OMG!! I have been a bit of a bad blogger hey!??? I have been busy though, so I will try and blog my bits and pieces today and schedule a 'delayed release' persay!! lol.

I frequently visit Andrea Walfords blog, I just love the little card sets that she comes up with so I decided to take the plunge and purchase a couple of her classes. This first one is Pun Fun, it is a cute little folder that has four card/tags in it, and the envelopes actually 'tear out' of the folder as you use them, they are perforated on the fold. We don't have that particular sized envelope in our aussie catalogue, so i was going to adapt it for DL size, then realised they would be too big. Then a lightbulb moment - yep the envelopes in last years Lifelong Notes Simply Sent kit were the same size!! so I used those. I plan to adapt the folder to suit the note cards though, as I think they would be cute!

Anyway I am prattling, when following a tutorial I like to follow it exactly first up and then change it to suit me or use other papers when I make another so I have made this folder the same as the tutorial. I have also solved (I think) my magnetic snaps problem - they seem too strong and one always seems to pull/tear away from the paper - so I have discovered that if I put a bit of cardstock between the two magnets, they seem to not pull too hard. (if ya get my drift!!) So on this folder I have hidden the top magnet between two Pumpkin Pie scallop circles! So one is attached between two scallops under the squirrel ( this also give the bit that you use to open the folder a bit more strength), and the other is attached to the blue base. Anyway, on to the pics hey??

Now below is a close up of all the tags!! I love this set, and this (unfortunately retired) paper. Each Tag has a different opening! The Hippo & Bird both open outwards, to write on the inside. The Cat pulls out a hidden tag to write on. The Whale image and the scalloped top section open upwards and the Rockets on the Pumpkin Pie open upwards. So cute!!! So clever, Thanks to Andrea for a wonderful class! I hope to pass it on to my ladies in the future, using newer product.

So that's that! What did you think?? I can't wait now to adapt it to suit notecards, it would make a lovely gift!!

My UNconvention Swaps

Well here they are! My Swaps for Unconvention!! Next time I do a MEGA Swap can someone remind me to 'keep it simple' !! I tell you, the card idea was good in theory, but when you need to make 21 (one for me) all the same it is not a good idea to have so many layers in mind! especially if you are like me and sponge everything!! Luckily I had my sister here and she sat and helped me sponge one evening, she did all the chocolate and I did the pink. I also had to stamp out and emboss all the pink backgrounds and the white dots on the eggs. 21 bows ~ all pretty much identical! Not an easy task!! But they are done! Finished and I am pretty proud of them!

The theme was Unconventional ~ meaning use a stamp set for a different purpose that what it is designed for, unconventional colour schemes etc. I chose to use the 'A Good Egg' stamp set, which is generally used for Easter Cards and made a 'Happy New Baby' card. I like the look of having the Egg open up (seen on SCS) and decided to put the baby from all in the family in the egg. As I said ~ a great idea in theory!! but not when you are making 21 of them!! LOL. But I had fun and I hope the ladies enjoy their cards. Also a BIG Thankyou to Lisa D'Almeida for coming up with, and organising the Un Convention!! and her helpers!! You have all done a fabulous job and all the time and effort you have put in is awesome!!!

So now that UNconvention is over and things are getting back to normal, I hope to try and share with you 3 - 4 times a week!!

Happy 10th Birthday Owen!

Well we didn't think he'd make it!! (lol) but Owen turned 10 yesterday!! double figures!! WoW!! He still loves his puppies!! We don't actually have a dog, but Owen has probably 20 stuffed ones!! So it is only fitting to pop a puppy on his card! My lovely friend Petra from Craft Factory sent me this 3D image sheet a while back, so I have finally put it to use and made a card! There are two other images on the sheet which, while I have it out will also put on to cards.

The boys always get to choose what they want for dinner on their Birthdays, so Owen chose Hungry Jacks!! and Zoe and Josh came a long too, he also chose the seating! They were on a table for 4 and Anthony and I shoved over to a table for two!! No he wasn't being romantic - they were on a table for the Y Generation and Anthony and I were on an X Generation table!! He's been watching too much tele!! haha. Anyway, off to finish off one more Birthday surprise for him, before he comes home from school!! Bye.

(lol) This is my gorgeous little niece Ella Rose! taken when she came down from Kalgoorlie a few weeks back! This is her 'Camera Face' so cute!! I had to share, she is currently my background on my computer!! Such a cute, cheeky smile!! Anyway I am off, I have a photo session for Owens' Birthday Card booked! Will be back to share that later.

It was one of my craft friends, Asheley's Birthday on Saturday and I don't know if she remembers, but a while back she mentioned that she must have a pink elephant from 'Wild about You' on a card!! and ever since she has seen the new In Colours, she has fallen in love with Kiwi Kiss and has been itching to put it together with Pink Passion!! So I took that on a as a challenge for her card!! So using a bit of inspiration from the net, where I have seen the animals 'stacked' I came up with this VERY BRIGHT creation!! I also pulled out my Flower Fusion and even though the colours are Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red & Old Olive, they seem to go rather nicely!!

So a Big Happy Birthday to Asheley, I hope you like you card and the couple of little surprises that are inside!! (hee hee)

My First Backpack! Take 2!!!

Well it seems my first attempt at the BackPack failed miserably!!! While it looked ok!! and I was quite chuffed when I had finished it, I wasn't completely happy!!! and if Caroline isn't happy it's not good enough!! (lol). So, I had to make another one! My main 'beef' with the first one was that my Basic Grey Magnetic Snaps kept unsticking, so therefore weren't working in my opinion! and they ripped the cardstock! I was getting VERY annoyed. I tried new DS Tape, then Sticky Strip, then the Power Pritt Glue that was recommended!! and it still didn't work, the magnets are just too strong.

So this time around my thinking was to put some paper between the magnets. If you look carefully in the picture below you can see that I have made the 'flaps' double strength. I cut the flap out of the template in Dp then cut another in the opposite direction so the birds are standing the right way! I ran it through my Xyron 510 and before sticking the two together, popped in the magnet. Then when I needed to adhere the magnet to the base I let it attach to the 'hidden' one, placed sticky strip on the back and stuck it down. Now when opening the flaps, it still pulls a little, but they do come apart. Just need to be careful with lifting the flap so that it doesn't rip.

I would love to hear how anyone else has worked around the problem with these magnets!! They are supposed to be 'so great' but I am finding them rather painful!! But I will perservere.

With this one I have also used the Linen BG stamp to give a bit of texture to the backpack I wasn't 100% 'happy' with how plain the first one looked. I have also used my Build a Brad for the first time on the little card!!! So now, I am happy, again. Till something goes wrong, again!!! So it is now this one that is destined for a certain little someone, who's birthday was a little while ago!! Happy Belated Birthday ..........?

More Choclate Boxes!!

I just LOVE these chocolate boxes!! It's all Kims fault!! (LOL) She introduced us to them last year on her Blog!! haha. They are gorgeous!! and sooooo very easy to make!! I made up a couple more the other day, and actually used the "Enjoy Every Moment" stamp set (Quite appropriate, seeing the Chocolates inside are the Cadbury Eight Moments!!). On this one I also used the Cup & Froth from "Like it a Latte", one is for my Roomie at UNconvention and this one is destined for an E-Friend of mine!! Watch your letterboxes ladies!!! - I am definitley keeping Aussie Post afloat at the moment!! LOL

My First Backpack!!

Looky Look!! (hee hee) I made a backpack!!! I have seen these on Blogs here and there and then last week they had a tutorial on Splitcoast!! Yay!! This is pretty basic colours, being my first, but I will play again!! This one is headed for a little girl, who's birthday was a while ago, but I just haven't gotten around to making her a card!! So when I saw the tutorial, thought, well now it is definately time to give it a go!! The little butterfly card goes in the front pocket and I am not sure what I am popping in the back yet!!

I am thinking that I might stamp the background on my next one, and a bit of sponging here and there wouldn't go astray!! But I am loving it!! and think it turned out rather cute!!
